From São Paulo's intense indie music scene, singer and multi-instrumentalist João Leão has played on over 30 albums of independent artists. Joao has toured with Brazilian singer and Latin Grammy Award Winner Céu and recently completed a cross Canada tour playing bossa nova classics with the group Passarim. You can catch João's bossa nova quartet the first Thursday of every month at Sauce on the Danforth. @johnylion_
As pictured.
May started playing saxophone when she was 12 years old, studied jazz at Shobi music college in Tokyo and continued to teach ensemble lessons and musical direction in Japan after graduation. Since moving to Toronto in 2016, she has played more than 500 gigs and performed on more than 30 recordings. Her current jazz trio “Redmarsh” performs at private parties, festivals and various music venues in the GTA and she also continues to perform with world artists from many different cultures, from Brazilian to Nigerian. She just released the new single for her personal project “Maysaxophone.” @maysaxophone
Farmer Tony will be playing his favourite Brazilian songs that he's discovered on his recent visits to Brazil.
Conny Nowe and Rachel Melas are the Hobo Soles, and they love nothing more than to while away the hours playing Old Time fiddle tunes from Appalachia, rags and cakewalks from the turn of the last century and a wild selection of work songs, train songs, Gypsy jazz, Klezmer, and what ever else will suit the zeitgeist and get toes tapping.
Conny Nowe plays mandolin, guitar, drums and washboard. Rachel Melas plays upright bass, fiddle, guitar, accordion and sings. https://hobosolesmusic.weebly.com/
Our road (13) is closed until the winter for repaving. From Lakeridge there is "local access only" so it's just gravel right now. On the weekend it's not too busy and you can drive on it, but you have to drive slow.
It's better to access from side road 17. You can take the parallel street north (concession 4) or south (concession 2) to side road 17. See map here-->
Please drive slowly when entering farm property, there is parking on either side of the driveway.
